Q: How do I book you?
A: Really straightforward. Just drop us a message - tell us a little bit about you, your work, your motivation for a brand new headshot or portrait and any thoughts on style & preferences. After that, let's compare diaries and book a date.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Our mantra when it comes to outfits is 'you've got to feel good wearing it'. Think friendly, approachable and professional. But most of all think 'smart & appropriate' for what it is you do. A plain shirt/blouse with smart jacket combo always works well. A fitted v-neck t-shirt & jeans combo is a classic casual look, that always work well for headshots. Polo-necks which frame the face are great too. Having said that, YOU have got to feel comfortable and happy with how you look so let that thought lead you.
Q: What can I do to prepare for the photoshoot?
A: The main thing is to arrive in a happy frame of mind. Hydrated and well rested always helps. And unrushed! We'll do the rest.
Q: What's your studio like?
A: The Edinburgh studio space we use is big, bright, spacious and open plan. It's fully equipped with different lights and different backdrops. It has super high ceilings, tall windows but most importantly it has a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. It's located in Edinburgh city centre (Newington/Causewayside, just along from the Meadows). It has private parking, changing facilities. We also have a smaller, fully kitted out photography space in Leith, opposite Ocean Terminal, which we can hire by the hour. It's super accessible and perfect if business headshots is your goal.
Q: Do you photograph outdoors?
A: Absolutely. If you think an outdoor photoshoot will reflect your brand and your personality more, then Edinburgh and Glasgow is overflowing with stunning, historic and atmospheric locations. The right outdoor setting can add so much to your final shots. Be it the Royal Mile, the Old Town or New Town, or Merchant City, Tradeston by the River Clyde, the possibilities are wonderful and endless. Particularly for teams.
